Research Fellow (Postdoc) "BGC Modelling 2013"

The GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel invites applications for a Research Fellow in the research unit Marine Biogeochemical Modelling of research division Marine Biogeochemistry.
We are looking for candidates with a strong interest in marine biogeochemical cycles and/or ecological processes and their interaction with the global climate system. Possible research areas include the sensitivity of marine carbon and nitrogen cycles to past and expected future environmental change, the development of new ecological and biogeochemical models, and the application of data assimilation and uncertainty-analysis methods. We expect the successful candidate to develop her/his own research profile and to participate in proposal writing to further support the group.
Candidates must have a university degree in a natural sciences subject and very good knowledge in earth system modelling or a related field.
The position is limited to 3 years, an extension by 3 more years is possible. Salary and social benefits are according to Germany’s public sector TVöD 13 scale. Part-time employment is possible.
