This position represents a unique opportunity for a talented researcher including:
• Working with a multi-national, multi-disciplinary project team comprising researchers from the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Sciences (IMAS) and the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) in Hobart, and the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle (MNHN) in Paris
• Access to some of the most comprehensive fisheries datasets in the world, with complete catch and effort records, 100% observer coverage on all vessels and an extensive database of research survey, tagging and ageing data;
• Contributing to fisheries management outcomes under the Convention for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR)
• Opportunities to attract and supervise Masters and PhD students
• Living and working in Hobart, the city with the highest concentration of marine scientists in Australia and Australia’s Gateway to Antarctica
